Yes, Pandora's great... but I have to say that I also gave a try to last.fm upon reading more about it and it's quite interesting too. In the long run you could expect the user-based system (last.fm) to be faster to respond to new music than the reviewer-based (Pandora) service. But it has to be said that the last.fm interface really sucks. I recall being a little puzzled as where to start with the service - not good for an online service. I shouldn't have to ask myself questions when I want to play music.

BTW, has anyone exhausted the 10 hours of free music on Pandora yet?

Couldn't agree more!
I played around with Pandora and decided to subscribe, the recommendation engine keeps bringing up cool new artists and there are no commercials, so for me it was well worth the $36/year. Hope they get rid of the flash player at some point though...

The same goes for me. There is no way that I could sit and listen to something and discover as many new artists as I have discovered just in the short time of using Pandora. The flash thing doesn't bother me as much right now becuase I usually will listen to Pandora at work and Podcasts/Music that pandora found on my iPod.

Great music lists!

I found that the more 'obscure' my picks were, the better results I got. When I put in an artist like 'Kool and the Gang' or the like, I got some garbage.

I, too, am looking for an iPod version or even a satellite radio for a GPS in a car to come out (not that I have one, but if they came out with one, I'd make the investment). $36 a year is pretty decent, too, considering that you get to create your own songlists and aren't at the mercy of someone else's picks.
